A recent member survey by Kinora, Australia’s largest independent online NDIS community, has revealed that, amid ongoing confusion and emotional strain, peer-to-peer support is emerging as a critical lifeline for NDIS participants.

Contributors to the survey said that learning from peers and connecting with others in similar situations were top reasons for engaging with the platform; surpassing even the search for service providers.

Surprisingly, despite a majority using professional plan management services, many members still reported feeling overwhelmed by NDIS policies, funding processes, and plan reviews.

Kinora’s findings underscore the growing role of community-driven platforms in improving NDIS participant outcomes, particularly around mental health, independence, and informed self-advocacy.
